Flying J Travel Plaza
The Flying J Travel Plaza project consists of demolishing the existing Shell station and reconstructing a new Flying J Truck Stop in its place. K & E Excavating Inc. is responsible for all earthwork, storm and utility systems, asphalt paving, site concrete, demolition, and offsite roadway improvements on Ehlen Rd. The new Flying J will have an increased parking area of about 7 acres, the majority of which is Truck parking, and a new building with auto fueling, and RV fueling/dump station. The existing truck fueling canopy will remain in place, but will be fully refurbished and all petroleum piping will be replaced. Also, a new Certified CAT Scale will be installed onsite. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year, and open for business shortly after new year’s.
"K&E’s product was installed exactly to the plans and specifications and their flexibility in executing the overall project schedule was outstanding. This project required significant coordination with the electrical and H-pile installation contractors, K&E’s support in this area contributed heavily to the success of the project."
