I-5 Beltline Project
Project Manager: Dave Gobbel
Superintendent: Rich Sedlecek
I-5: Beltline Interchange – Eugene / Springfield: At $ 9,152,000.00, this project is currently K&E Excavating’s largest project in the history of the 10 year old company. GPS guided equipment assisted our operators in excavating over 47,250 cubic yards for a new drainage swale over 1 mile in length, along with importing and placement of over 225,000 tons of stone embankment. The project consists of excavation and backfill for three bridges, a pedestrian bridge over I-5 and mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls all performed by K&E crews and equipment. The General Contractor, Mowat Construction, has a scheduled completion date of November, 2008 for the project.
"K&E’s product was installed exactly to the plans and specifications and their flexibility in executing the overall project schedule was outstanding. This project required significant coordination with the electrical and H-pile installation contractors, K&E’s support in this area contributed heavily to the success of the project."
